Your ethernet NIC is showing an invalid address for the SH2:

IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.137.1(Preferred)

For static that should be in the range of 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.63. For DHCP it should be 192.168.1.xxx where xxx is anything between 64 & 253. See the valid IP address of the wireless NIC:

IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.231(Preferred)

So it looks as though at some point you have set a static IP address to connect to a different network? You need to set the ethernet back to DHCP or set a valid address.

Unable to connect to websites via Ethernet on Smart Hub 2

In the past if I wanted to download something chunky, I connected my laptop to the Smart Hub 2 by Ethernet cable to do this. Yesterday when I tried to do that it failed, and I do not understand why.

The toolbar symbol in the bottom right-hand corner changed from wi-fi to Ethernet. Connecting to any website, including BT Home, just received an unable to connect or time out message. Settings showed I had internet access okay and running the trouble shooter just told me the problem was with the website not my laptop. Removing the Ethernet cable and returning to wi-fi enabled me to connect fine after a reboot. I tried this with my daughter’s laptop and had the same result, so it is not a problem with my laptop.

My main PC is permanently connected by Ethernet as it has no wi-fi, so I know the ports work on the hub. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this?

What do you get as results if you type ipconfig /all into a command prompt both when connected via WiFi and also ethernet?

What do you get if you type ping 8.8.8.8 with Ethernet connected?

I notice that your Ethernet connection is static rather than DHCP and has no IP4 gateway or DNS server configured, also your WiFi seems active at the same time as the Ethernet. I have no idea if either of those points is relevant, but on my laptop when Ethernet is active WiFi is disabled - both are set for DHCP so would have the same gateway/DNS configuration. I have not tried the type of configuration you have so my comments might be totally irrelevant😁

Settings shows the Ethernet as Automatic (DHCP), IPv4 Address is showing.

In your earlier posting of the results of ipconfig with the Ethernet adapter under DHCP Enabled it says No. Also there is no Gateway address or DNS server address for IPV4. (Section copied and placed below to save scrolling about). This section also shows the WiFi still connected.

Something weird appears to be happening with your Ethernet connection - I am not sure what.

I presume you have a Lenovo laptop, the issue with connecting ethernet disabling WiFi seems to be a "feature". I noticed on the Lenovo website an article that suggest installing "the VLAN driver for my intel ethernet adapter Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (4) I219-LM" allows the selection of "packet Priority and VLan" which can then be set to Disabled in the ethernet properties > configure > click in advanced tab > settings with the result that it fixed the problem for one user.

I have no idea if that is a solution for your laptop or not, but you might want to read up about it to see if it is relevant.
