I have been told I am migrating on Wednesday. I have been sent a Smarthub2 that is identical to my existing Smathub 2, and I have confirmed that my current Smarthub has the Phone option on it, although not yet active

Do I have to switch the hubs over, or can I just use the one I have?

Just use the old one and keep the new one as a backup.

That's what I thought, thank you for confirming it. I did have somebody tell me that the migration would be serial number specific, but I didn't believe it! As for keeping it, I suspect they will hassle me for one of them back, or charge me for it.

If you did use the new one and had a lot of peripherals already on you local network wouldn't you have to get into the new hub's manager and change the SSID to that your existing equipment connected to it seamlessly? I know that is what I did when earlier this year I upgraded and old BT Hub to a much later one. I also changed the password too so that I had the same as the original hub.

That is my backup plan. But if it ain't broke don't fix it!
