BT wifi extender disc - is hard wired to Ethernet better?

I am soon to be delivered a new smart hub and also an extender disc.

I have an ethernet port where I would like to site the disc, but is possibly to far away from the main router for good wifi.

My question really is would the disc work better hard wired (but a long way from the main router)?

Or does it have to be purely a wifi connection? i.e. probably about half way to where I would ideally like it.

It would be better hard wired.
