Hi @janets1 ,

It sounds as if your sewing machine has historically been connecting to the public hotspot made available by your Hub - this was previously called "BT WiFi" and has now been renamed "EE WiFi", hence the message you're seeing.

You can avoid this by making sure it connects instead to your private network, probably named something like "BT-HQxxxxxx".

I have a sewing machine that connects to my broadband but every time i switch the machine on i keep getting an EE pop up that says BT has shared my account details with them and i need to sign into EE to get a connection. I have not changed to EE so why is this happening and why won't the machine stay connected to my BT broadband. And why has BT shared my information when i haven't moved to EE.

Everything else is still connected to BT i.e printer tv laptop etc.

It is a brand new machine straight out of the box. I did connect to my BT wifi, and it stays connected for about 10 minutes and then the EE pop up appears informing me BT has shared my log in details with them and i need to log in to re-connect.

BT and EE are part of the same group and the consumer division is going to be known as new EE , in preparation your hub ( presumably a BT hub ) is transmitting EE WiFi ‘signals’ as well as your usual BT WiFi SSID , ( for example mine is BT-5KF*** ) , the suggestion was that instead of connecting to the regular channel that the BT hub broadcasts ( yours may be something like BT-5KF*** ) and entering the WiFi password once and then saving it , ( so the sewing machine always connects automatically without having to enter the WiFi password every time ) , it’s somehow connected via the ‘BT-WiFi’ or EE WiFi ‘hotspot’ channel which needs authentication, these are the type of channels that allow others to connect to someone else’s hub while they are away from home ( and allows you to do the same while away from home ) .

Check if your sewing machine has saved is always connecting to the regular ‘BT ’ SSID , or rescan and set it up again , ensuring the ‘BT-******’ is one is selected and saved in the sewing machine .

Are you having issues with any other devices, like phones , tablets , laptop etc ( things that connect wirelessly) ? if not , it is going to be the way the sewing machine is set up .
