Then, has already been suggested, just use a mains extension lead.

Edit: in your original post you said you wanted to move your router. The router doesn't need to be next to the ONT, it can be connected by up to 100 metres of Ethernet cable.

Can you explain exactly what it is you wish to do?

I have recently upgraded to BT Fibre but I need to move my router. The Fibre mains cable is not long enough to connect to the wall socket. Are there extensions available from BT or any other reputable dealer.

What would be the spec of this plug?

Full Fibre does not have a wall socket but an ONT (router) for which an ethernet cable (CAT5e or 6 up to 100mts can be used).

FTTC will use an RJ11 from the master socket..

Both are available on amozon or ebay in various lengths.

If you are on about 240v mains cable just use an ordinary mains extention cable.

"The Fibre mains cable is not long enough to connect to the wall socket."
You need to clarify what you mean by "fibre mains cable", and also whether you get your broadband via a copper wire to the BT master socket, or fibre cable to the ONT modem. The master socket needs no mains power supply and is passive, but the ONT modem does need a mains supply and is active (several lights on it)

ONT has box inside the house (green lights on top) with a plug which is connected to my mains socket. This plug and cable is not long enough. It also has an ethernet cable to my existing BT router

So how is moving the router involved?

It worked OK until I wanted to move it, now the cable from the ONT box won't reach the mains socket. You're correct, I don't need to move the BT router. NB. I was unaware that the ONT box needed a mains connections, I was previously on Virgin and I only have 1 mains socket using an extension to connect to.

I haven't moved it , it's fixed to the wall. All I require is the mains plug from the ONT to be half a metre longer. If I know the configuration of that lead then I can replace it

If you just need the power for the ONT 1/2 a metre longer then you should be able to use an extension on the 12V side i.e. between the existing power supply lead and the ONT. You can buy 2.1x5.5mm extension leads in various lengths (often used for CCTV) from the likes of Amazon, Kenable, Ebay etc. Much smaller and neater than extending usibg a 13A socket (cheaper too!)

Make sure the cable you order is the right size for your ONT - different models may use different sizea.

Alternatively, just plug the part of the cable supplying power to the ONT which has the 3 pin plug on it (the transformer) into an ordinary mains extension lead which you then plug into your wall socket. This really isn't difficult!
