If SMB1 has been ditched by microsoft as a security risk that enables ransomware attacks, why are people enabling it to use the usb port of the BThub to add flash/hard drives? Am I missing something or does the hubs security protocols make it safe to do so? If so is it safe to use for file sharing between devices connected to the hub?

I was curious after searching 'SMB1' and reading a quite in-depth article posted on Microsoft Community hub entitled ' Stop using SMB1'. I just wondered if anyone definitely knew whether or not using it via the hub through the usb port was actually secure. Hope so, would be very useful. 🙂
