That version has been out since August.

I believe the order that it is rolls out in is to the newest serial numbers first. The number on mine is +xxx90xxxxx

Perhaps one of the regulars can confirm that notion?

Interestingly, I have two SH2’s. This morning was the usual 14 day automated reboot.

The new speed was naff and I was going to give it another reboot so I thought I’d take the opportunity to swap the units round & even out the wear on them.

The older one had been on for the last 14 days and was still on v40. The newer one, (serial number speaking), updated to v41 immediately after I booted it up.

I used to think it was done by geographical area but this suggests serial number determines the order of updating.

There isn't a link to it. For security reasons BT keep full control of the process. You have no control over it at all. They also don't discuss what has been change.

That's not the current version anyway. 41.01.10137 has just loaded and rebooted on mine. The incremental change suggests they have found a problem in 41.00.07076

No idea what is in the update but when my SH2 upgraded the firmware a few weeks back, my connection speed increased to the highest it has ever been.

No idea if this is by design or a coincidence, but I’ll take it as someone who maxed out at 60/9 previously. The additional upload speed is most welcome.

67/16 now

Perhaps less noise pickup from E-Sides, as the PSTN connections are being ceased? E-sides would normally enter the fibre cabinet via tie cables, where noise pickup can occur.

Upload speeds are very dependent on high frequency performance, so less HF crosstalk would improve the bandwidth available. Any change would have been initiated when the line re-synced.
