With hybrid connect I think the 4G light should go white when its connected, I just watched through this again:

Setting up Hybrid Connect | BT Help

Hi , we have moved house and bt cant activate our WIFI until the 19th so they have sent out the hybrid connect so we can use that to get 4g until then. the issue is we cant connect to the 4g. it shows up as available but when you try to connect it takes forever and then eventually doesn't connect. its connected to the hub with the ethernet cable and it has 1 blue bar.

The hybrid connect will connect to the hub with WiFi quite happily. Try moving it to get a stronger signal. Find where your phone sees a strong signal and try it there.
