Most TP Link routers have a wireless on/off switch which stops all wireless bands.

https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2519/

Bear in mind if you have BT Digital Voice, that only the Smart Hub 2 can be used.

Hello again,

I don't think I have BT Digital Voice (unless i'm on it without knowing, but don't use a landline)

I have bought a TP Link Router as suggested but doesn't seem to work - Not sure if i'm doing something wrong.

I basically have BT Fibre at this new house, but I do not want WIFI at all and want wired - However, I have heard that when you swicth wifi off with the BT HUB2, it still sends radio signals anyway??

I just want to avoid wifi signals and have a wired system - I am only going to have 2 ethernet cables, one to the TV and one to my computer.

Any advice or help would be really appreciated !!

if you purchased the tplink router suggested by @Keith_Beddoe then have you connected the ethernet cable from the fibre ONT to the internet ethernet port on hub? if so you then need to enter username as

bthomehub@btbroadband.com

password can be anything but often just BT used

"I don't think I have BT Digital Voice (unless I'm on it without knowing, but don't use a landline)"

If you don't have a landline phone then you won't be on BT digital voice. The reason you must use a BT SH2 for digital voice is that the SH2 is the only hub to have a landline phone socket on it, which you need to use instead of plugging the landline phone into the wall socket.
You say you're on BT optical fibre service - but is this fibre to the premises (FTTP) or fibre to the cabinet (FTTC)?
If you have FTTP they'll be an Optical Network Termination (ONT) box on your wall with green lights on it (if it's working properly) and you'll need to connect this to your TP Link router with an ethernet cable.
If you have FTTC, then you'll have an ordinary BT/Openreach master socket on your wall and you'll need to connect this to your router using an ordinary phone cable. And in this case, your router must have a built-in modem (as does the BT SH2).

I would reset to factory setting the tplink and start again just select the quick setup and when username needed use the one I posted earlier the password can be anything or just BT
