Hi

I have a new EV charger where my signal strength is insufficient to provide a stable connection for the Hive charger unit.
BT Wholehome discs have not helped and I have been advised I may need an external ap, or means to boost the signal, not just extend it.

My question is, can have a cable running from where the open reach connector box is on the outside of the house or would I have to have a cable (presumably an Ethernet / cat 5 cable) running from the smart hub 2 router?

Any other tips and advice most welcome as I need to charge my car!

You can't 'boost' a WiFi signal you can only extend it.

A simple Wireless Access Point (WAP) located somewhere near the charging point connected to the router via a Cat5e cable should suffice.

You cannot connect to the external Openreach CSP.

Does the unit not have an Ethernet connection as well as WiFi? Just cable directly to it if it does.
