How are your 2 PC's connected - wired or WiFi and distances from the router? When you say poor connectivity can you expand on that poor in what way?

I transferred to BT a few weeks ago, getting a new router. One PC (a HP6200, 64 bit W10) works fine and my TV and internet radio stream perfectly. My download speed is ~70Mbs.

A second PC (a HP8200 running 32 bit W10) has very poor connectivity. It's at its worst when woken from sleep, and then improves a lot over the next few minutes, but is still not very good.

Any advice much appreciate

In computer terms the HP8200 is an old PC. Have you checked on the HP and the manufacturer of the network card site to see if there are any upto date drivers for the computer.

You should also check that the "Wake on Lan" is set corectly.

See link

@HPman

I know the HP8200 well - until I upgraded earlier this year I used one as my main desktop. I've still got it up in the loft as a spare, (together with another HP8200 that was the spare for that one!).

What are the specs of your machine - ie which processor and how much RAM have you got fitted?

The HP8200 used processors from the Intel Series 2, either Pentium, i3, i5 or i7, and could take up to 32GB of RAM across its 4 memory slots.

I'm just wondering if yours is very low spec - eg Pentium processor with 4GB or less of RAM, (you mention 32 bit OS, so can't be more than 4GB I don't think?), then your problem might just be that your computer is fine but showing the strains of running modern OS and software.

.
