Thank you - that makes a lot of sense and yes, it will be way out if range!

Supplementary question - can a second Smart Hub be configured to act as a DECT, without affecting the main Smart Hub in the house, so I can have a phone in the workshop or is there another method.

Anything but the need to run a telecoms cable basically!

Cheers

Peter

Digital Voice - Complete WiFi

Numpty Question - sorry!

I have a Complete Wifi System (Smart 2 Hub). My workshop is 50m away from the house and I'd like a phone down there. I have an ethernet link. I have paired the WiFi disc, then taken the WiFi disc down to the workshop and plugged it in using the ethernet, I get a steady blue light. However, the phone does not recognise WiFi Disc as a "hub", so I assume cannot act as an access point for the digital voice?

So, do I need another Smart 2 hub to act as the access point on the workshop internet and if so, how can I configure it such that it doesn't interfere with the main one in the house but does allow the phone to connect?

I've been through all the Help material and this problem doesn't seem to be dealt with.

Cheers

Peter

The BT phones use DECT not Wi-Fi, so only connect to the DECT base station in the BT Smart Hub 2 connected to the BT network, so your phone must be out of range.

Digital Voice does NOT use Wifi. The Hub is a DECT (cordless) base station.

This might be able to help if you can site it at a window pointing to the workshop.

See link.
