That shows you can get FTTC but speed only 6/2mb as you must be a very long way from your street cabinet. There is no FTTP available

Ah ok so with EE and Vodafone they said the guarantee speed would be around 50mbps so would that not be possible

Not if using the openreach network. Do you know if any neighbours have broadband on openreach network and if so what sort of connection speed do they get. It may be that there is a problem with your address - it would not be the first time

To check what your line can support log onto your BT Hub using this link and go to Advance settings the Technical log. On the Information page copy and post the Data Rate and Maximum Data rate.

If it shows the maximum data rate above 50Mbps then EE and Vodaphone are correct, it it shows lower than that then they being economical with the truth.

If it was a issue with the address how would I go about fixing it or getting it fixed and I’ve looked at business WiFi and virgin says it can come to my location but it’s giving me speeds of 400 and up but it is fttc so would they still be the speeds I’ll be getting

thank you for the help so far

Have you done the check that I suggested. If you have and it confirms what the BT Wholesale checkers shows then the only way to fix a FTTC connection would be to move house nearer the cabinet or get FTTP.

If you go with Virgin they supply their product through their own lines and will give you the speeds that they say they can deliver.

Yes checked and seems everyone has the same speeds 6/2 around that so if I go with virgin I should get the speeds they say and it won’t be the same line bt and ee uses
