I have a BT smart Hub 2.

I have 3 Sky Q boxes all hard wired to this router.

I also have 4 BT Wholehome Black wi-fi discs.

However when someone is watching Amazon Prime Video or Netflix on one of the Sky Q boxes on a TV AND I am watching anything on my iPad at the same time, the BT Smart Hub 2 keeps disconnecting.

I have received a new BT Smarthub 2 from BT and set this up successfully including reconnecting all 4 wi-fi black wholehome discs.

But still hub keeps disconnecting when someone is watching Netflix/Amazon Prime Video on a TV and I am also trying to watch any TV app on my iPad at the same time.

Does anyone have any ideas what to do?

Very helpful to know. My install is probly in July, and I have Sky Q and 4 mini boxes.

I was wondering why are there only a few channels usable?

Also, when a chanel is changed to a better channel, do you have to turn off smart switch to stop it changing back?

Thanks.

Yes, you will have to turn the Smart off.

As far as the number of channels goes, there are only really 1, 6 and 11 at 2.4GHz because the channels are so close together, they interfere with each other. An oversight in the original design. Only 1, 6 and 11 are far enough apart to be completely separate.

At 5GHz they are already set four channels apart but the airwaves are crowded and your Wi-Fi is not the only thing out there. Channels above 48 can be used but they may clash with things like radar and so are obliged to use DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection) and jump to another channel if they detect a radar signal etc. This means 36, 40, 44 and 48 tend to be the most stable for home use.
