You are posting on a 2 year old thread, but yes you can access the usb port at the rear of the Smart Hub2. It has not been disabled but you need to use smb1 which is deprecated and disabled by default on must devices.

The USB port on my BT smarthub A Is no longer accessible using my Iphone. Which means I can no longer stream music from a USB drive.

This has been caused by a firmware update Please let me know when BT will rectify this.

Serial number:

Firmware version: SG4B1000E081

Firmware updated:26-Feb-2023

I just had a conversation with BT Support and they told me it was no longer supported and was only for use by BT Engineers. I asked them to make that clear to users instead of us wasting our time trying to make things work that they had disabled and they agreed to forward the request up the management line.

Interesting, however my SH2 has firmware v0.45.00.08028-BT updated on April 8th 2025, so I wonder if that has something to do with it?
I activated SMB1 as per another response and rebooted the Win 11 system but no luck - I also tried your two suggestions above but again no luck.
By the way I'm trying to access a memory stick.
Also when I try 192.168.1.254/usb1 it comes up with "403 forbidden" and "illegal file name"

OK I got there - the only option you need to select in Windows Features seems to be "SMB 1.0/CIFS Client" - the other two SMB options can be left off and then you can either map the drive to a drive letter using the option in File Explorer or you can enter \\192.168.1.254\usb1 in a browser and you will get access to the root folder as per file Explorer.

Great, thanks for the hints and tips.
