I have a smart hub 2 and 4wholehome extenders. I have a recurring issue that every so often, say 6 months, I start getting drop outs, but possibly only a couple of times a day. Always the same extender which is farthest from the hub. It doesnt impact streaming on the TV which is plugged directly into the SH2. The other 3 extenders show they are connected but can get reduced performance on next furthest away. Just feels to that it’s something outside and not in the setup as it is intermittent. I am in a rural location and a fair distance to the nearest exchange and on copper. No fibre here yet. Any thoughts

If it's solely WiFi from your Wholehome units that is dropping out, then the fault is within WiFi in the house, and nothing to do with the broadband service or the hub.
Have you installed any new devices which generate a WiFi signal that might interfere with the Wholehome one?
You could use one of the WiFi analyzer apps on a mobile phone to monitor what WiFi signals are present in your house. That might provide a clue as to what is happening when the WiFi drops out
