Hi all

I've been using the white Whole Home Premium discs for several years now and, generally, they've worked really well. When there is a blip, a quick restart usually puts things right. But not this time...

I have four of the discs in my house due wifi signal issues caused by my old brick walls. The main disc is connected to my BT Hub 2 and the other discs connected wirelessly. I have 500mb full fibre broadband and usually I get speeds of around 300-400 mb throughout the house. I also switch the WiFi off on the home hub to reduce the chances of interference related issues.

Yesterday, for no apparent reason my internet became really slow. So I tried a few things several times -none of which worked:

Restarted the discs via the app

Restarted by switching them off at the plug for a couple of minutes

Used the reset button to reset the discs and reinstall

Tested and swapped out all network cables

Reset the fibre box by disconnecting the power for 15 minutes. Plugged back in and waited for another 15 minutes

Restarted the BT hub 2

Reset the BT hub 2

Tried the network cables in all of the lan ports

Swapped out the main disc with ones that I was using elsewhere

Checked for network updates

Tried reinstalling with the majority of home WiFi appliances switched off

Tried move the main disc as far away from the router with a extra long length of cat 6 cable

Tried several devices to connect and test the speed of the internet

Tried connecting to WiFi directly through BT Hub 2 and although signal can be a bit weaker, speeds are a lot better

After all of this, I'm in exactly the same position. I can set all four discs up but the internet is really slow. For example, standing next to the disc, I occasionally got 400mb but when I walked into the next room the speed drops to anywhere between 50mb and 0.5mb.

If I go back and stand right next to the disc, and making sure I'm connected to it, I get around 20-50mb. Strangely, when testing the internet speed through the Ookla speedtest , I can see the internet speed significantly drop with every step away from the disc.

Throughout all of this, I usually seem to have full signal WiFi strength on my phone.

My guess is that my Hub 2 has an intermittent fault but I can't really swap it out to test it.

Any ideas anyone?
