How to change wifi password on Smart Hub 2?

Hi,

I'd like to change my Wi-Fi password on my Smart Hub 2. The last time I did this (a wee while ago), I was able to do it on my laptop. However, today when I've looked on the BT website for instructions, it tells me to use the MyBT app - which I think only works on smartphones. Is there still a way to change my Wi-Fi password using my laptop?

Many thanks for your help

You don't need the app to change the WiFi password. Just go to advanced wireless settings in the hub manager to change it.

That's good.
But why does the BT website say you must use the MyBT app to change the hub password?

Was it referring to the SH3?

I know on the EE forum this comes up quite often. I think the driving force is that it's assumed that everyone wants to do things via a phone these days. Call me old-fashioned, but I still prefer a desktop.

Hi WSH

The instructions to use the My BT App came from the bt website - and were referring to the Smart Hub 2 (not the SH3). Here's a copy and paste of the instruction on the bt site (in the Smart Hub 2 section of the relevant page):

"You can change the wi-fi password via the My BT app.

Open the My BT app and select Home Network.

Select Settings.

Select Network settings.

Select Change Wi-Fi password.

Enter the current Wi-Fi password.

Enter and confirm the new Wi-Fi password."

Like you, I prefer to access this sort of stuff via my laptop. Which is perfectly doable. It's just a bit odd that BT don't explain that option in their instructions.

Anyway... problem solved. So it's all good (thanks to the kind assistance of the good folks on this forum).
