    <description>&lt;P&gt;UpNP has been switched on by default on all BT hubs. Switching it off will have no effect unless you are a gamer or expect unsolicited incoming connections to your devices. Unless required, it is always more secure to disable UpNP.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Folks&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On setting the router up i notice UPNP is switched on, I have no clue what this does !!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Will it affect my connected devices if I turn it off?? &amp;nbsp;Cameras, bulbs, Alexa etc!!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.bt.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/308455"&gt;@Jasonuk1975&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp; For most home users, you should keep Universal Plug and Play disabled on your router because it creates a security risk by letting local devices open network ports without your approval.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I personally never have UPnP enabled and I use my own router. I don't even have WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) enabled on my router.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have over 30 WiFi devices connected simultaneously and not having UPnP enabled doesn't affect anything at all. That includes light bulbs, security cameras, washing machine, dishwasher, the works.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
