Talk21 Email Profile Picture

Hello - Please help and read all of below.

About 25 years ago I set up my first personal email address which was .talk21.com. This was set up on a PC desktop.

At this time, I imagine I uploaded a photograph as a profile picture, which was myself and partner.

Some years later talk21 was converted to t21.btinternet.com but I continued to use the talk 21address with no issues.

I think about 17 years ago I started to use an IPhone and my email account was then used primarily with the IPhone email App, which is just called Mail.

I have had no issues using this App. On the App there are no settings functionality, just an Inbox, Sent Box and any other folders I have set up to store email messages.

The sent emails, shows an icon next to my name which is a grey box and my initials. There is no photograph.

2 weeks ago my friend showed me her email account and we were checking info on an email I had sent her and then discovered that my original photograph is displayed as a picture next to my name on all outgoing emails.

As I separate from the person displayed just over 15 years ago I hirriedly tried to update the picture.

On the Iphone App, there are no settings and no where to upload or remove a profile picture.

Talk21 no longer exists so I called BT Internet and they logged me into my email account on a desktop and I was able to access the settings and I uploaded a profile picture there. There was actually not one displayed at all. 2 weeks later the old picture is still attached to any email I send. Whether it is from the Mail App on my phone or on the desktop version of the Talk21 (bt.internet) email package.

I have contacted IPhone to ask for support on their app, but they say it is just an app and the picture is attached to my profile for talk21.

I have contacted BT internet and they tried deleting my account from app and setting it back up.

We have cleared cache and deleted history, numerous times.

The old profile picture is still there.

I emailed a friend I had never emailed before and the old picture still appears, as read that if you have previously receivd an email from me, the original picture will display.

I am pretty much at my wits end and extremely embarassed that all these years I have been emailing people with a picture that is 25 years old and with I am with mye x when we separate 15 years ago.

Does anyone know how this can be removed or do I need to ditch this email account and start again with a new provider?

Check if your photo is stored in your and your friends Contacts list. If it is delete the contact then re add it with the new photo.

Thanks. This has been done to no avail. I’ve even sent to a brand new email account but old picture appears.

Thank you for this advice. This has been done. The photo that sends on my email has never been stored on my phone or as a contact picture. It is also not stored on other people's contacts. I have emailed brand new contacts since updating the profile picture online from the BT Email Page on Desktop and the old picture is still being received and displayed.

I think I need access to the old Talk 21 Desktop profile. But of course it does not exist anymore.
