If you had searched through the forum you would have see that there are numerous posts regarding this.

BT have made Two Factor Verification compulsory when using BTMail and MyBT. This requires the user to verify using a PIN code sent by BT. This can not be turned off.

Your device will eventually become a "trusted" device by BT at some point after an unspecified time.

Good Afternoon,

Every time I access my emails on webmail, I am getting prompted for a six digit verification Code.

Surely my device / Location is registered to my account and should not be constantly flagged as suspicious?.

Please advise if this is normal behaviour.

Kind Regards

Geoffrey

This appears to be a "feature" of BT logins at present. They have recently introduced 2-factor authentication and don't seem to have done it very well. Apparently they are "working on resolving issues with it".
My last attempt at logging in had me putting in codes sent to both my email and to my mobile phone, but I kept getting returned to the login page. After around three to four goes of this nonsense I finally could access my account.
You just have to be VERY patient at the moment!

For BTMail this feature HAS to be user selectable. It's a USER choice, not BT's choice.

Regardless, BT can't be trusted. As this clandestine introduction has demonstated.
