Hacking

Hello!

I have three BT Email addresses set up, my main email address which incidentally is my BT ID is regularly being hacked and auto-forward set up. Now it has happened to my sub-account, I noticed no emails recieved for two days, on checking the settings, I found auto-forwarding set up to *********. I have deleted the auto-forwarding and changed my password yet again. This is the first time auto-forwarding has been set up to an address that is not similar to the address of the account hacked and no one has reprted receiving odd emails from me. Most strange, usually all my adressees get an email asking to do me a favour etc.

cheers

[mod edit: removed personal details from the community]

Have checked your devices for malware and keyloggers. Do you have your passwords stored on your devices. Do you have auto complete set up on your browser to insert user name and password. Is the two factor authentication set up on your MyBT/BTMail account?

Have you reported this to the BTMail email team?

I have asked the moderators remove the forwarding address and to see if they can advise the email team regarding the hack

Hello!

I don't have auto-complete set up, as for two stage authentication it was set up, but I don't think it is now.

I have just run Cyber Threat Protect and found nothing, my passwords are stored in windows, is that a problem. I tried Norton Password Manager, but it didn't change passwords when they were changed. I needed two stage authentication to log in to my BT.
