BT Extra Box - Using another 4K Box Instead of provided HD Box

As in the title, looking to add an extra box subscription to use with my VIP package but would like to use a leftover 4K box instead of the HD box they provide when you subscribe. Does this work as an option as long as you have the NOW login on the box? Or do you get restricted to the box they provide via the subscription?

You can use a different box if you wish, but worth noting that BT have all but admitted that a new wireless multiroom box is about to land (possibly this month), which may have functionality an alternative box cannot replicate.

I’m thinking sharing recordings from the main box as an example, but we don’t know for sure yet.

Thanks for the clarification and more so the wireless box info! Are there any threads anywhere on this? Keen to keep and eye on it
