Remote controlling TV not Youview Box

Hi,

I'm having issued with my TV remote. I can get it to turn on the YouView box after I've turned it off from the box but when it turns on it just controls the TV. I've reset the box, following the instructions on the site, but this then just leads to me pressing buttons and it not doing anything.

To summarise, the batteries are fine, it can control my TV (volume, freeview channels etc), it can turn on the YouView box but nothing in regards to the BT youview box after this.

Any ideas?

You refer to your TV remote as in the Panasonic, Sony, LG etc remote.

If that's what you really mean then that remote will not control the Youview box ever.

It sounds like it is using CEC signalling over the HDMI cable connection to turn on the Youview box when it detects the TV has been turned on.

(CEC control is called different things by different TV manufacturers if you decide to look in the TV settings for it)
