Bt pro box

Recently installed new bt pro box I thought I could record 4 shows simultaneously but throws a warning saying 2 only

any ideas why this is

Are you getting your channels through an aerial or through the internet?

Yeah through the internet it's only 2 channels.

It's all down to bandwidth etc. There's a post about it somewhere.

Having fibre installed will this increase the recordings

Ok but I can plug aerial in and then will it allow 4 recordings
Can I use both internet and aerial 🤨
It’s funny nowhere does it say only 2 recordings if via internet!!

Using aerial mode you will be able to record 4 channels at once. If you use internet mode then you will be able to record 2 channels at once.

Bt restrict the box to receiving 2 multicast Ip channels simultaneously so effectively you could record 2 IP channels , or record 1 and watch another IP channel. So in IP mode two is the limit.

In aerial mode the box is able to receive 4 Freeview channels so up to 4 simultaneous recordings of the Freeview channels can occur. The same restrictions on IP multicast channels apply so 2 IP multicast channel can be recorded. So in aerial mode you could record up to 4 aerial channels plus upto 2 IP multicast channels so up to 6 recordings.

Thank you it’s working now but lost all new tv package channels so going to wait see if the fibre install sorts
