Sound bar connection

After a bit of advice from those in the know before I make changes.

my current setup is BT pro box to Samsung TV via hdmi, then to the sound bar using spdif cable.

Before I rip the tv off the wall and run cables, would it be a better option for sound quality and syncing of the voice to the picture?

Pretty much the same as how mine is set up. HDMI to TV and then SPDif out of the TV to the soundbar. I don't have any issues with sync and sound quality is unaffected as they're both digital connections.

If you do get any sync issues, you will be able to tweak the delay through the TV, Pro Box or soundbar so should be able to dial them out

Just for closure, I tracked the issue down to a problem with a connector between 2 spdif cables. I guess it introduced some random delay into the signal. Once removed, all is good
