BT TV Box Pro - return to live view

Just received a BT Box Pro as part of an upgrade to Fibre. If I pause when viewing and then resume viewing, all is OK. If I pause then fast forward to "catch up", it starts playing and then after a few seconds changes to a blank screen with no sound. Pressing OK tells me what should be playing but nothing else. If I go to the home page I need to select another channel before I can switch back to the channel I was viewing. Is this normal operation or is it a faulty box?

With my older box, after pausing, I could just fast forward through adverts etc, until I had caught up with the delay, and then continue viewing as normal. Very frustrating.

Depends on your definition of "normal". Clearly it shouldn't happen but it does for at least some, including me.
