BT TV Subscription ending - Can I still record programmes on BT Box?

I have a BT Pro Box, which I purchased myself, but I have now cancelled my BT Sport subscription which in turn cancels my BT TV. My question is will I still be able to record programmes on the BT Pro Box without the subscription to BT TV? If I can will that only be through Freeview?

It should work as a Freeview recorder via an aerial connection

@DAM555 Yes, but only if you have an aerial plugged in to receive the Freeview channels.

If you bought it yourself, you shouldn't need to return it.
