Can I watch a previously recorded programme on my BT box at the same time as the BT box is recording something else?

Yes indeed.

Typically you can record 2 channels whilst watching a recording.

Gosh! That question takes me back 20 years to my first PVR, a single tuner Humax 8000T which did not let you watch anything while it was recording in exactly the same manner as a VCR did not.
