Connecting a second tv

To connect a second tv to my BT box is it as simple as fitting a splitter and second hdmi cable ? I don't wish to be able to watch both tv's at the same time. Would I need to upgrade my account in any way ?

Your solution is one i have used. Works as expected. Even using the remote through a wall

Yes it’s as simple as that, no you don’t need to upgrade your account, as it’s just a local change on the HDMI side; and you can even watch both at once, if you like.

In the dear dead days of the Slingbox, I split off the HDMI Out from my YouView box, one side to the TV and the other side to a component video converter, to throw the YouView box’s output to our TV in Spain, a 1500 mile long virtual HDMI cable 😛
