You view box making funny noise

Please help my you view box is only showing 1 blue light and making a funny noise not loading alls it keeps saying is waking up then you view loading. Please can anyone help i have tried resetting and unplugging all the wires turning off waiting and turning back on to no avail.

A funny noise sounds like a failed disc drive, and your other observations are consistent with this.

If you have an EE TV subscription, contact BT/EE for confirmation of this, and to get a replacement.

If you don’t, what box model have you got? Generally, your choices are to replace it with a pre-owned box, from CeX if you want a guarantee, or off eBay if you know how to check an unguaranteed box over the moment it arrives.

Or, if opening the box doesn’t faze you, you could buy a new hard disc - ensure you get a video-rated one - and drop it in. The YouView box will automatically set up the disc, so you don’t need to partition it yourself.

Thank you i have contacted bt and and had to have a new box sent out.
