annoying popping/ clicking noise from Youview box

Hello , i have a Youview box connected to my LG TV which is then connect to a soundbar, in both cases via HDMI. The issue only concerns the Apps in the Youview box. When I play one of those, I get the noises at the commencement of each programme, at the the start of each add on the commercial channels and between them , therefore because of those add breaks the likes of itvX are more annoying than on Netflix or iPlayer.

The problem does not arise with mainstream channels or with the Apps on the TV itself . Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

I forgot to add that TNT sport is unwatchable due to frequent juddering and pixelation. I normally rely on Discovery + app on my TV. It's not ideal,though, because I also like to record sporting events and that is quite impossible

Has this been the case for as long as you've used your TV Box with this sound bar, or did the sound issues develop over time?

Have you had a chance to try swapping out a different HDMI cable to see if the problem persists with different cables too?

TNT Sport juddering and pixilating on the TV box itself and not the app would related towards the quality of connection your box is getting from your router. Could potentially point to a wider issue with your connection but you'll need to rule out anything internally, like is the YouView box connected via ethernet, and if not does it improve things?

Is the clicking and popping come from the box itself or the speakers?

the sound comes via the soundbar but as said no other source produces it

i would say it has developed over time. I'll change the cable and see if I get better results, thanks

Are you using surround mode for audio on the youview box?

no i had it on stereo. I have changed it to surround to see if that makes a difference

Was wondering if when more channels became active between different channels/apps the soundbar was popping as it changed mode or something. Even though sound bars are generally stereo you can feed them surround signal.

I thought popping of this nature was usually current/load discharging.

Are you using e/ARC at all? Sometimes that signal can cause a noise, at least it did for me a long time ago, just thinking out loud possibilities.

my soundbar has a choice between stereo and surround sound although like the STB I had it set on stereo, besides the issue only arises with the apps at the start of each programme ,at the start of each add and when the programme recommences

My soundbar supports ARC but not eARC whereas my TV supports the latter

After having swapped from stereo to surround, the issue seems to have resolved itself for now. Many thanks for the help
