Connecting TV to BT pro box

I have discovered my new TV does not have an ethernet connection. Previously the TV was connected to the mini-connector via internet and there is also an aerial connection. The TV manufacturer is closed for the weekend. Is there any way to connect without the ethernet? Attheend stands for at the end of my tether and I certainly am.

Settings/Network/WiFI, or whatever the equivalent path is on your TV.

(Tell us the make and model, and we can tell you exactly how to get there).

Then type in the SSID and Password of the router.

You should be able to find what these are from a label on the router, perhaps on a little pull-out plastic shield.

Very similar to setting up the Box Pro, which you have instructions for in an earlier posting.

But be aware that while it is useful to have the TV on your network, this forms no part of setting up the Box Pro to work on the TV.

You could still usefully inform us of the make and model of the TV right now, in advance of an engineer being sent.

I just looked up Mini Connector, and it is indeed what BT and EE have taken to calling what we used to know as PLAs. I didn’t know that 😢

If your new TV does indeed not have an Ethernet connection, this rules out the use of these, so it is important to independently confirm the absence of one on this TV.

But as I said earlier, getting the TV onto your WiFi is irrelevant to connecting the Box Pro; the Box Pro is successfully connected to the TV when the HDMI cable is in place between them.

Is your problem that you are trying to use these Mini Connectors to connect to the TV, when you should actually be plugging the Ethernet cable from the remote end Mini Connector into the Box Pro, not the TV?

Cello C3220F. The mini adapter that is next to the TV has lost its lights. One of the community advisers who had an official capacity with BT said when this happened to disconnect both, plug them into a double socket next to each other then turn on the sockets. If both then had 2 blue lights then plug them back into their places reconnect and turn on.

The absence of an Ethernet connector on the C3220F is explained by it not being a Smart TV.

So no WiFi either.

On balance then, it’s a good thing that all the Box Pro requires of it is an HDMI input 😛

Have connected everything by the book, aerial, HDMI, ethernet, power, turned on the remote and box has green light, turned on TV with its remote and screen shows No Signal. So will now turn off and disconnect again.

So you've connected the aerial feed to the input socket on the Pro Box and connected the output socket on the Pro Box to the TV's aerial input. And the HDMI socket on the Pro Box to one of the HDMI sockets on the TV.

Are you getting "no signal" when the TV is switched on and the Pro Box is not and you are expecting to watch programmes just on the TV

The Pro Box is on and the TV has been switched to the HDMI input from the Pro Box?

Which one?

I am guessing at this point the OP needs to switch the source on the TV to whichever HDMI socket the Pro Box is connected to.

The box is switched on, the TV is switched on, the HDMI cable is connected from the box to the TV port. It says No Signal, there are no on screen instructions.

Have you set the tv to the correct HDMI "channel"?

From your newest description of your setup and what you have tried it appears that it is waiting for instructions from you.
Use the TV remote to tell it which HDMI port the Cello should be looking for a signal from.

Looking at a picture which claims to be for an original Cello TC3220F remote this will be via a button marked "Source" which is located in the centre of the remote immediately above the row of coloured buttons.
