sound issues

A couple of times recently, when I hit skip forward while watching recordings my t2100 makes a crackling noise and then when the programme starts playing again the sound is gone and the only way to get it back is to powercycle the box. I was wandering if this is a sign that the box is on its last legs or if there was a simple fix?

possibly unrerelated to your problem but it does seem to indicate that some issues are occuring with the older generation boxes with content from the COM5 multiplex channels

Thanks for the link I hadn't seen that thread, it's happened on film4 and drama the last couple of times I remember.
