EE TV package and Broadband supply

I recently signed for the EE TV package, Broadband and telephone packages. My contract with BT was at an end.

EE sent me a new TV box and remote control box. I successfully connected the TV box. However, I am very disappointed with the TV service EE provides using the new box. Basically, it does not work anywhere near as efficiently as the old BT box. There are so many items from recording timing, fast forwarding, et al, it is impractical to list it all here.

The remote control box arrived without any instruction manual whatsoever. Using the new TV and the remote control boxes have therefore been a matter of trial and error.

Since the new contract began, my broadband internet connection is frequently dropped and has to be turned on each time I revisit the internet. My PC computer takes 10 minutes (ten minutes) to go through the procedure of setting up (and finding the broadband feature) when turned on each morning.

I thought EE was brought in to supply a better, more efficient service using the latest technology? My experience to date is anything but. I will not be recommending EE to anyone seeking my opinion, as things stand.

Hi @Terrior

I agree with the recommendation to register and make use of the EE community as effectively they should be responsible for supporting their products and there will be members of the community who have experienced the move over from BT to EE.

I assume as you mention a new Tv box and recording that you have been provided with a EE TV Box Pro and its own remote. The BOX PRO is manufactured by Sagemcom , the earlier generation of BT Youview boxes were manufactured by HUMAX. The EE BOX PRO is still I believe the same specification as the earlier BT BOX PRO apparently only the case has been redesigned. The BOX PRO does have the option of IPMode for the Freetoair channel as an alternative to aerial mode for Freeview.

There is some guidance on the Box Pro and a pretty basic overview of the remote control keys at

https://deviceguides.ee.co.uk/ee/tv-box-pro-proprietary-os/

also a guide at

https://www.bt.com/content/dam/bt/help/user-guides/tv-box-pro-user-guide.pdf
