I'm pretty sure Glass will function as a normal display screen without a Sky subscription but you'll need to access all your apps via the BT TV box but it might be worthwhile asking the same question on the Sky customer forum or searching through the forum as a similar question might have been asked before.

I'm thinking of cancelling my Sky subscription and Switching to EE TV (as its significantly cheaper).

Question, does anyone know if its possible to plug and use a BT or EE TV box into a sky glass V1 TV?

Thanks

Just remember the EETV box will not have all the apps that your Sky Glass had

Best to get the likes of a Firestick if you want to use all the apps.

You can still use the apps on the Glass TV and use the internal tuner to scan for the DTT channels (if you have an aerial), so no real need for a Firestick or Roku device.
