Recording Eubank vs Benn Sky Sports Box Office?

I have been really looking forward to this match for years now, unfortunately I am away Saturday 26th April for a week and there wont be any opportunity to watch, so I'm going to try put myself in lock down and avoid all media outlets for a week so I can watch without knowing the following Sat (3rd May).

The event is on Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN, DAZN state you can watch events for up to 7 days after they are live, I am making the assumption that the 7 days expires when the originally event finished...but I dont know and their online chat is useless....

Soooooo, I see Sky Sports Box Office there on my EETV Box but I am yet to watch a single event on it, always favouring TNT Sports Box Office, so after the above context and waffle I have two questions:

1: Can I Order Sky Box Office Events via the EETV Box, specifically Eubank vs Benn

2: If I record the event how is there any method where the box will delete it automatically based on PPV terms?

You can purchase Sky Sports Box Office through the actual channel that it's shown on, through your EE TV box. You can record it, but it will only be available for seven days after the event, at which point it will not be able to be viewed.

I often try and avoid media after Formula 1 races and almost always get it spoiled by an errant notification. I hope you get to see the fight and have a lovely week away.

Can you confirm the timing then.

Say the event starts at 7pm April 26th and finishes a 0100 April 27th.......does that mean I can watch it up until 0100 May 4th 0100? Or does 7 days mean I could watch it through through until Monday 5th 0000?

Point is I have a friend who is also going to try achieve the same, we always might a night out of the boxing events, so May 4th is when we intend to do it, so really I was just trying to think ahead and not let anyone down.

As far as I know you will need the Sky Box Office app, so no it wont be watchable via Now.

Maybe we'll squeeze it in friday to be sure but sat is the preference, not that the world needs to move for me, but just checking ahead of time.

@naylor2006 That’s one hell of a tall order to avoid any spoilers for a whole week in this day and age. It reminded me of the classic episode of Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads, where they try to avoid hearing the result of the England match, so that they can catch the highlights later on tv. They manage to do it just, despite a few close shaves. Only to sit down to watch in the evening to find that the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch!

@Brucemeister5 yeah, its going to be tricky, Ive never gone that long, ive avoided results maybe for 12 hours or so before, this is going to be hectic, also on the night of the fight I am in london as well at a concert at the O2, that will kick out around the same time the fight wraps up I expect which is over at the Spurs stadium, not even sure ill get to sunday without knowing!

There is a script to help on the UDM type devices...

Pretty sure you only need to worry about step 5 but do check it all out.

I cant provide specific config for UDM (Unifi) type stuff because they are a little different to the ER-X (EdgeMax) because on the latter you can mess about with them more like an enterprise router, the UDM are being configured via Unifi by the vast majority of users, luckily you still can take SSH and run a curl on it like in that link.

Not seeing much success with people getting IPTV to work over WIFI on Unifi gear, I never tried and people I know using this script just used ethernet, I would recommend the same, even though I dont rate powerlines, if its the only way to get ethernet to the EETV box then so be it.

@naylor2006 Thanks for coming back to me mate (and sorry for hijacking this thread). I will rewire my dad's house (even though it means crawling underneath it) and try again. it's frustrating as I can see that others with the UDR7 (the latest pill-shaped one) have seemed to get it working and I'm no noob - I just must be losing my touch 😞 Either that or BT have updated things in light of their recent move to integrate normal phonelines into the hub/VOIP? I'll report back later this week. Thanks again.

Digital voice shouldnt be effecting it, I just personally havent seen anyone report it working on Unifi wireless....and where I have seen it work its with that script from GitHub. Luckily my TV box is in the same room as the router so I dont need to use wireless, although I do have ethernet throughout so could utilise VLANs, make a IPTV VLAN and tag it so itll find its way to the device on an interface somewhere else. I think VLAN's can help with wireless IPTV, so you have a given access point with a VLAN attached to a specific SSID, that way only things connecting to that SSID will get the multicast packets.

Anyway, if you want to get IPTV working you have to ensure its working via ethernet first before tackling WIFI, usually you have to designate some dedicated interface for the IPTV also.

I think really for some people it just works, and others have to muck around with it, definitely the most solid setup is using the Edgemax stuff where you can bake it into the config file natively.

23:59 3rd May is last chance to playback any recordings on the event. Event repeats are the day after the event only.

Soooo...after the incubus gig at the o2 I was able to make it all the way back to my airBNB without seeing any news of the result, I decided to just buy the fight on DAZN and watch the event that way, as it turned out my mate cant even come over saturday anyway.

Really happy for Eubank.

Appreciate the help here though.
