Hi, 2 days ago all channels up to 324 (Sky) disappeared. What I've tried. . .

Returned my box = 'no signal' so no channels

Returned Freeview on TV = same message

Bought aerial booster and new cable = made no difference.

Plugged aerial in TV (bypassing box) = same result

Checked for outside interference =Crystal Palace no problems and no local problems reported.

We're in a flat and nobody else in the block has aerial problems.

Any ideas please? Thanks in advance, I'm at the hair-pulling stage!

Just because no one else in the block has this problem doesn’t mean it’s not the aerial itself, there may be some sort of RF distribution network in the block and unfortunately your part of it seems to have developed a fault…you have effectively proved it’s not your equipment because the TV and set top box are displaying ‘no signal’ , a signal booster is no use if their is no signal in the first place.

If you are renting , the TV ‘network’ rather than your equipment may be part of the rent , so your landlord may be responsible…if it’s your flat or the landlord isn’t interested, then access to the common areas etc where the communal aerial and distribution equipment is sited would be needed but if new equipment that is part of the RF distribution network is needed how you would deal with that as its ’commercial’ type equipment, is unclear …TBH , an indoor aerial or a ‘freely’ TV that uses the internet to access Freeview stations may be the solution, if your TV box is the correct type , then it may already have ‘IP Mode’ so you can get the main missing channels back that way because it can get those channels via the internet .

I just add one thing to what @iniltous has said, and that's to check the antenna patch cable from the wall to the TV/box. I've seen them where there's been a hidden break, and also one that was killed by a pet ferret! Oh, and TV boosters should not be used downstream from the TV distribution systems you commonly find in flats/apartments!

@starling153 it'll be an issue with your buildings distribution system. We used to have a similar thing in our old flat where something would trip a circuit and we'd loose our terrestrial tv, we were also on BT TV at the time but the trip would knock out the aerial feed to our flat and only our flat....

The building will most likely have a single external aerial which is then distributed internally by a powered system. It's something for the landlord or building management to deal with.
