Facebook connection problems

I've been having intermittent problems connecting to Facebook today - and isn't the Facebook server we get a mirror within the BT network, presumably to save load? I am guessing so because when I do a traceroute the server ends in ash2.facebook.com, which I presume means it's in Ashford. I get a blank page, or it times out. And then after a few minutes it's fine, and it's fine for a while, until it goes again.

Re: Facebook connection problems

Now it seems to be lagging a couple of hours behind. I get an email notification that someone's commented on my status, or replied to my comment, and when I click the link it's not there, and it doesn't show up for a couple of hours. This has happened a few times today.

Re: Facebook connection problems

this problem is solved by replacing http://www.facebook.com/whatever with https:/ssl.facebook.com/whatever

Re: Facebook connection problems

The solution is go to https://ssl.facebook.com/   whatever

But why  has the problem apparently only arisen with BT?

Re: Facebook connection problems

another solution is to use another DNS server as BTs DNS is not resolving the HTTP addy.

Re: facebook

Down for me as well, also another site I frequent. Looks like a routing issue as I can access via my mobile phone on 3.
