Sony Vaio loses wireless connection to Internet

I use WiFi to connect my Sony Vaio laptop to my BT hub. Quite regularly I find it loses the wireless connection to the Internet, it usually shows that still connected to the hub but no Internet connection. I think the hub is working OK because another PC on wired connection is OK and another PC connected by wireless at the other side of the house is usually OK. I usually can fix by rebooting the Vaio so I think it is a Vaio problem but wonder if anyone has any similar problems? MB

Re: Sony Vaio loses wireless connection to Internet

Hi JMB

I am also a vaio user too, i have had my problems but normally driver updates resolves the problem.

What model of Vaio have you got and what version of Windows are you running?

I use a small .bat script which resets my wireless internet, open notepad and copy the following text and save as reset.bat

c:
cd\
cd windows
cd system32
ipconfig /release *Con*
PAUSE
ipconfig /renew
PAUSE

This normally fixes most of my issues ;-)

Re: Sony Vaio loses wireless connection to Internet

My bro in law had to get a wifi stick for his lappy (Acer) tiny little things they are now aint they.

I believe he paid about £7 for it and it works much better than the onboard wifi

An MSCE in computing is like having a McDonalds Certification in World Cuisine, pointless.
