I've just had my ADSL service installed (the fibre cabinet near me is full unfortunately). Instead of using the BT Homehub I am instead using an Asus DSL-AC88U.
My question is - will my use of a non-BT-modem/router in any way affect the 10 day learning process/DLM, or does it not matter? Or to put it another way, will the DLM process work better if I connect up my Homehub rather than the Asus?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

It won't affect it. Many users on other ISPs use other routers perfectly well. It's the same BB connection & DLM, managed by BT Wholesale, whether BT's your ISP or not.
The Asus DSL-AC88U is a superior router. Good Internetting with it :).
