In the same boat. I constantly look over at the hub and its flashing orange every 10 to 15 minutes. I've just tried to play Rocket League on the PC and while my ping wasn't horrible. It's usually around the 20ms but now it's at the 60ms and a lovely red "packet loss" message is blasted in my face.
Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.
If you get noise on your phone, or even no dial tone, then you need to report it as a noisy line. Do not mention any broadband problem, otherwise it will end up in the wrong fault queue, and take much longer to be fixed. There are plenty of people who can fix phone faults, but not as many broadband people.
Once the noise is fixed, the broadband will get better.
