BB Speed & Disconnections

Go to solution
So, since 26th August my BB speed has gone from 6mb to barely 3mb and my HHB 3 keeps disconnecting (2 times since writing this post). I've tried quiet line test (nothing wrong) hard restart to no evail (like bt asks you to on website) new equipment and checking all wires and bt box on wall. Nothing has worked & my speeds won't go back to normal. It's happening on all my devices wireless & wired. Can't be bothered to phone them & speak to some Indian person called John or Susan who blatantly read from a script & are no help whatsoever, I wonder if bt fix this if I tell them I'm cancelling with immediate effect? They dont seem to care IMO. Now I wish I didn't change provider 4 months ago as bt are not living up to expectations with their fancy equipment and "we don't slow you down" promise, what a load of ****. I've had a stable connection for the past 4 days and 16hrs and its just reset itself in the past 10 mins, it's as if they don't want your speeds back up after stable connections??

Just 1 socket with phone line coming in to it. It's not the socket with the test inside tho. No extension cables or nothing.

Re: BB Speed & Disconnections

you look as if you have been in a banded profile due to all the disconnections you are still in a banded profile but i would expect in the next few days you will get another reset and you will then get a further noise margin drop providing the connection remains stable your speed will then increase again and will continue until you reach the default 6db setting

this link explains more about banding http://forumhelp.dyndns.info/speed/speed_drop.html

So when i was placing my bt order months ago i was told on the phone by an employee that i would recieve between 7 - 11 speeds. clearly im not. i know this may look normal and show no real problems but my speed has dramatically reduced over the past 1 and a half weeks and hub disconnects by itself. i was getting faster speeds with my previous provider so how can bt say this is normal, wish i hadnt changed tbh.

could this explain why the hub reset itself twice this morning and speed increased slightly, is this the normal process to get back to normal?
