Broad band speed and latency

Up until 2 days ago I was getting a steady 15.5 Mb an a ping of 20. Now I have to reset the hub several times a day. I have bought a TP link router an things have improved but still not what it was. BT say everything tests ok and are sending a new hub but I have already tried 2 hubs and the TP link router. Any ideas?

Re: Broad band speed and latency

Resetting the hub multiple times in a day has likely triggered DLM (dynamic line management) to make some changes as it the resets will have "tricked" DLM into thinking there's a stability problem.

Can you post the stats from the router?

In all likelyhood you probably just need to leave it for a few weeks for DLM to realise there isn't a stability issue, it will then undo the changes it made in an attempt to stabilise the connection such as reducing the speed and applying interleaving (which would increase your latency).

Re: Broad band speed and latency

You'll need to log into the router manager page.

Instrucions should be in the user manual.

Re: Broad band speed and latency

Thanks for posting @drewboy69.

If you can give the details as requested by @Webby I'm sure we'll be able to help.

Please also include some speed test results.

Cheers
