Broadband Speed Cap

I have had download speeds of 9Mbps for ages and ages and from the 1st of April (can you believe it!) a fault developed on the line which took Openreach over 2 weeks to fix. The telephone line had rubbed itself away on a tree so the line was replaced, this fixed my broadband. Now after the so called learning process my speed is now capped at 3Mbps. I know it is capable of more as my router reports the following with command adslctl info --stats (note the Max can be 8836Mbps) see below:-

What needs to be done to get this artificial speed limit lifted? As an aside I have been logging both my download speed and the SNR for months and months so I know when my telephone line is good and capable of better perfomance than this.

Oh and I must see about getting a refund for my 2 weeks of no-show broadband. Router is a DG843GT.

Thanks.

-Jim

Re: Broadband Speed Cap

you need to show a stable connection for 3/5 days and your speed should start to increase automatically if after then it has not improved then the forum mods should be able to help you with a reset

getting a refund on loss of broadband however is a different matter and very unlikely to happen you should be able to claim a line rental refund if your phone service was affected by the fault

Re: Broadband Speed Cap

It has been learning for over 5 days since the line was fixed with no reset or disconnects. Line speed is just the same at 3036kbps.

Re: Broadband Speed Cap

Have been connected for 121+ hours which by my reckoning is 5 days, no disconnects and still no speed increase, still the same at 3064 kbps down and 1005 kbps up.

Re: Broadband Speed Cap

Got a £7.32 refund of broadband rental, I suppose it's better than nothing.

Re: Broadband Speed Cap

That's because it was over the 5 days with no disconnects, I just restarted the router hence the 2 days in my cut and paste of the stats.
