Then you just have a standard ADSL connection.

If the phone went dead, then that would indicate a problem on the external line.

Which master phone socket do you have?

They can suffer from problems, and are not ideal on an ADSL connection, as they introduce loss owing to the over complex circuitry  inside the filter section.

If you have a spare microfilter, then plug it into the real test socket which is located behind the filter section. See if the speed improves, and the disconnections stop.

Hi thanks for that will remove the facia and try a filter in the test socket if it occurs. Appreciate the help.
