OK ive been in my new home 3 weeks. Before that all was fine with BT infinity as i lived less than 1km from FIbre enabled exchange.
Moved home with BT and was informed no infinity supplied standard ADSL Bt Intetnet.
Speeds have been awful download speeds 2.65mb down .37 upload on BT Wholespeed test. Moreover using the internet is panfully slow, esp in the evenings, we can't both use internet at once, its just too slow.
Raised various tickets with BT line then broadband then line, each time 'it is fixed now sir i promise you restart in morning all fine...' etc.. which it never was. Then out of blue was informed Infinity now available in my area and were confident 15mb is the min speed i will get. As sir 'BT will install fibre to your house'. really???
Now my worry is this, running the checker its telling me following.
xchange name: Witchampton
Exchange status: Fibre enabled
Cabinet number: 1
I looked on google maps i am bh21 7dw(lodge road) which shows about 3km as crows flies from Witchampton.
I looked at the graph here
Im not convinced its going to work? Please help, i have absolutely had enough of Off shore call centers feeding me **bleep** about this and that, i cannot stand dealing with them anymore.
Any help gratefully aceppted from someone giving me facts not call center BS!
OK thanks John will post back my speed test after Thursday hope you are right! Many thanks for your time and prompt response.
I agree i was trying to ascertain the distance from the cabinet but i can only get info on my exchange.
