Broadband speed reduced dramatically

Hi guys first time poster long term lurker,

I'm hopping you can help me here , I have been having connecting problems for the past week. My broadband speed has gone from on average around 6mbps to on average 0.4mbps. Since last week my download speed has constantly stayed around this speed and I'm starting to get a little frustrated. I have contacted bt via live help and they stated I have a ? Fault on my line however the department I was transferred too told me the issue was at my end. I have done the usually tests using the test socket and wired connection however the problem remains.

Welcome to forum

 

are you currently in test socket?  Connection time only 5hrs is that due to router dropping connection or manual reset?

 

can you run btspeedtester and when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post results. 

 

btspeedtester

 

it appears that your profile is low and that is reason for low download speed but btspeedtester will show profile

download speed is 0.13mbps

 

upload is 0.10 mbps

 

and ping is 187.25

 

seems to be getting worse. im not currently in the test socket however i was yesterday at bts request and results were no different.

 

router been connected 5 hours i reset it last night, so im guessing it has possibly disconnected at some point during the day.

That's not results from diagnostic test but from the first test. You need to run diagnostic test which follows after the first test. Only that test shows your profile

Hi when i try to change my user name to complete the tests i get this

 

The Broadband username that you’ve entered is either incorrect or is not
supported by your BT Home Hub. Please check your username and try again.

You should not need to change your user name for diagnostic test it follows thefirst test but you need to enter phone number. Test 3 need change username but don't want that test

Download speedachieved during the test was - 0.4
Mbps

For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.6 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
Additional
Information:

Your DSL Connection Rate :8.13 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM),
0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7.15 Mbps

 

Just run the test. is this what your looking for?

Profile is correct but your download speed is below acceptable level - was test done wirelee or wired?
