Bt master wiring a new slave from it

I have a master socket thibk its the net 5, i have the service provider cable coming in to terminals a and b, i have ran a cat5e cable from terminals 2 and 5 in the master pushdown terminals to a new slave which is terminated in 2 and 5, 2 is a solid blue conductor and with and blue in terminal 5. I plug the phone in but its wont work, its just says check the line on the phone, am i doing something wrong?

Have you re-assembled the master socket otherwise the extension won't work. Are you sure you have fully pushed the wires in using a proper punchdown tool.

Hi thanks for the reply, yes i have ive used my bt punch down tool, i plug the phone in the bt master test socket and it works but wont at the slave, its like the 2 and 5 terminals aren't working,
