Re: Connection keeps dropping

Welcome to this user forum.

Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.

Re: Connection keeps dropping

have you tried using the test socket with a new filter to see if this helps stability by eliminating your extension wiring and master front plate as causing problems

can you enter phone number and post results  delete number  https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html

can you post stats from your hub

Re: Connection keeps dropping

I dom't use micro filters as have a master socket that has one socker for phone and one for DSL. So not sur that is the issue.

below is the output from the adsl checker

Exchange HASLINGTON is served by Cabinet 87

FTTP is not available.

For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

This line is on a Market B Exchange.

In order to be eligible for handback, downstream speed should be less than Downstream Handback Threshold values.

Throughput/download speeds will be less than line rates and can be affected by a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.

The Stop Sale date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2012; the Formal Retirement date for Datastream is from 30-Jun-2014. The Stop Sale date for IPstream is from 31-Dec-2012; the Formal Retirement date for IPstream is from 30-Jun-2014.

If the End User wishes to migrate from their current Broadband supplier they will need to contact the Broadband supplier they want to take service from to arrange for the service to be migrated.

Please note that postcode and address check results are indicative only. Most accurate results can be obtained from a telephone number, NAD, UPRN or Access Line ID (ALID) check.

Thank you for your interest.

Re: Connection keeps dropping

Which socket do you have?

Master socket with two sockets

Which BT Home hub are you using, it should be a home hub 3 or home hub 4 for ADSL?

Is there any noise on your phone calls? Dial 17070 and select option 2, there should be no noise between the announcements.

Re: Connection keeps dropping

even if you have a filtered master socket you need to try the test socket with a filter to eliminate your internal wiring and faceplate from cause the instability problems

I also see you are on adslmax up to 8mb whereas your exchange is adsl2 unabled and you could upgrade and get an expected speed od about 13mb maybe better with up speed increasing by about 100%.. the forum mods could help if you decide to upgrade

Re: Connection keeps dropping

Broadband is now more stable. Managed 24 hours before a restart. Today I was finally able to order Fibre with an estimate of 79-80Mbps. Only downside is that I have to wait unti 4th Jan. Is there anything that can be done between now and then to get more then the 1.6Mbps I have currently.
